Corallo cavolfiore – Anita’s Reef – Isole Similan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Il punto di immersione chiamato Anita’s Reef si trova sul lato est delle Isole Similan e, come gli altri siti sul lato orientale, ha una dolce scogliera inclinata che scende fino a circa trenta metri di profondit\u00e0.<\/span> La barriera inizia a circa cinque metri e, in realt\u00e0, questa zona \u00e8 fantastica per coloro che vogliono nuotare con maschera e boccaglio oltre a essere il posto ideale per terminare le immersioni.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Questa pendio sabbiosa \u00e8 punteggiato da coralli duri e da piccoli massi che si trovano lungo tutta la parte orientale;<\/span> sono presenti diversi tipi di coralli e anche parecchie gorgonie, una vera gioia per gli appassionati di questo tipo di flora marina<\/span>.<\/p>\n

I coralli sono la casa di molti pesci pi\u00f9 piccoli come le damigelle, i pesci pagliaccio, angelo, farfalla. In questo sito elevata la probabilit\u00e0 di avvistare barracuda, tonni e carangidi a caccia.<\/span> Fai attenzione: tra i coralli potresti incotnrare anche una tartaruga.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Anche qui si possono vedere esemplari di heteroconger hassi, piccole strane creature seppellite nella sabbia, grandi murene e razze a macchie blu.<\/span><\/p>\n

A sud di questo punto di immersione si trova un grande corallo simile a una colonna che si sviluppa da venti metri fino ai dodici metri di profondit\u00e0.<\/span> La cima di questa colonna sommersa \u00e8 piena di vita; un sacco di pesci nuotano tutto intorno con la speranza di ricevere un po’ di attenzioni dai gamberi pulitori che vivono qua.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anita’s Reef \u00e8 profonda circa trenta metri con una minima corrente che quasi non si avverte. Mendre stavamo scendendo a circa 10 metri di profondit\u00e0 abbiamo incontrato numerosi esemplari di heteroconger hassi<\/span>mentre. Questi bizzarre piccole anguille hanno la maggior parte dei loro corpi nascosti nella sabbia e quando i subacquei si sono avvicinati, sono scomparsi nelle loro tane da dove erano usciti.<\/span><\/p>\n

Un enorme sgombro e un carangide si trovano a nuotare nella zona sabbiosa a circa cinque metri dal nostro gruppo e stavano inseguendo le loro prede – non sono sicuro di quali pesci si trattasse perch\u00e9 sono arrivati cos\u00ec velocemente che li ho avvertiti pi\u00f9 per il forte rumore che hanno provocato quando si sono avvicinati alla sabbia<\/span>. Il carangide ha avuto la meglio, mentre lo sgombro \u00e8 scomparso nel buglio a bocca asciutta.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pi\u00f9 vicino alla barriera corallina in cima a un paio di colonne, vari tipi di carangidi, di pesci fantasma e di pesci angelo imperatori stavano distruggendo un piccolo gruppo di pesci di vetro. E’ un sito incredibile da vedere, migliaia di questi piccoli pesci sono continuamenti bombardati da insaziabili predatori<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Anita\u2019s Reef is on the east side of the Similan Islands<\/a> and like the other sites on the eastern side it has a gentle sloping reef drifting down to depths of about thirty metres. The reef itself start\u2019s at about five metres \u2013in fact this area is fantastic for those that just wish to snorkel it is also an excellent place to end the dive too.<\/p>

This sandy incline is dotted with hard corals and small boulders all the way down the eastern side of the dive site; the coral is a combination of hard and soft assortments with some large Gorgonian sea fans.<\/p>

The coral coverings are home to many of the smaller fishes on the reef like Damsels, Anemone fish, the sophisticated Angel and Butterfly fish, large school of the small Forster\u2019s Barracuda are regularly see here, there are small Tunas and Blue Trevallies hunting. Also look out for Hawksbill Turtle lurking in holes aroubd the coral.<\/p>

Also here you can discover the Garden Eels, keep an eye peeled for large Morays and in the sand you mat spot Kuhl\u2019s (Bluespotted) Stingray.<\/p>

At the south point of the dive site you can find a large coral bommie which rises from around twenty metres up to twelve metres. The top of the bommie is full of life; lots of fish loiter around the Banded Boxer cleaner Shrimp hoping for a clean.<\/p>

Anita\u2019s Reef the viz is about thirty metres with a very minor current if any at all, as we drop away down to about ten metres; we found masses of Garden Eels. These bizarre little Eels really do sway in the current, most of their bodies are hidden in the sand and when divers get too close, they descend back from where they came.<\/p>

A huge Trevally and Spanish Mackerel came thundering into the sand area about five metres from our group, both of these predators were chasing a fish \u2013not sure what the fish was, together these large pelagic marauders hit the sand with a loud thump \u2013 I really heard it. The Trevally got fed and the large Mackerel moped off back out into the blue still hungry.<\/p>
