Immersione lungo la parete<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

North Point o Rocky Point si trova alla fine dell’Isola Similan numero nove ed \u00e8 molto vicino a Christmas Point, questo punto di immersione \u00e8 formato da massicci massi in granito.<\/p>\n

Il sito ha una grande boa rossa che segnala da dove iniziare la tua immersione; \u00e8 sempre una buona idea utilizzare la cima per scendere in quanto ti pu\u00f2 aiutare quando la corrente \u00e8 forte fino a riuscire a spostare facilmente i subacquei lontano da qua.<\/p>\n

Quando ci si immerge su questo fantastico punto di immersione delle Isole Similan, vedrete, soprattutto in un giorno di buona visibilit\u00e0, il fondo che scende fino a raggiungere oltre 50 metri di profondit\u00e0. Tuttavia non andremo fino a quella profondit\u00e0,\u00a0 ma resteremo a una profondita inferiore ai 30 metri.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Le formazioni di roccia consentono delle dolci e entusiasmanti nuotate a circa 20 metri.<\/span> Ci sono semplicemente centinaia e centinaia di pesci chirurgo, con grossi gruppi di pesci che pascolano sul bordo esterno. Dai un’occhiata nel blu: potreste vedere alcuni squali pinna bianca che in genere si trovano abbastanza in profondit\u00e0<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oggi a North Point o Rocky Point, come \u00e8 meglio conosciuto, purtroppo la visibilit\u00e0 era di soli dieci metri che non \u00e8 normale per questo periodo dell’anno. <\/span>Tuttavia questo non ci ha impedito di avere un’immersione subacquea eccellente.<\/p>\n

<\/span>North Point pu\u00f2 ingannarti facilmente e potresti rischiare di scendere troppo in profondit\u00e0, quindi \u00e8 saggio tenere d’occhio il tuo computer qua. <\/span>

<\/span>Abbiamo nuotato un po’ pi\u00f9 in giro, dove abbiamo poi trovato una banco di perciformes. Alcuni di loro si sono improvvisamente fermanti per guardare che cosa stavamo facendo e una volta che hanno capito di non aver nulla da temere, hanno ripreso a nuotare<\/span>.<\/p>\n

<\/span>In profondit\u00e0 abbiamo visto due sagome, probabilmente erano squali, ma questo rimarr\u00e0 un mistero perch\u00e9 nessuno di noi ha capito esattamente cosa fossero, anche se potrei scommettere un paio di dollari che erano un paio di <\/span>squali grigio scogliera in questo periodo attirati da<\/span> acque pi\u00f9 fresche e torbide.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

North Point \u00e8 aperto per le immersioni subacquee da novembre ad aprile e rientra negli itinerari della maggior parte delle crociere subacquee in Thailandia<\/a> e nelle escursioni giornaliere dai centri di immersione di\u00a0 Khao Lak.<\/span><\/p>\n

North Point or Rocky Point can be found at the very end of Similan Island number nine and is very close to Christmas Point, this dive site comprises of massive granite boulders.<\/p>

The site has a very large red buoy marking the start of this Similan dive site; it is always a good idea to use the descent line as it helps when the current running here, as it can easily move divers off the site.<\/p>

When diving on this fantastic Similan Islands<\/a> deep dive site, you will see, especially on a good Viz day, the bottom dropping down to, and way out beyond, fifty metres. However we do not go to those depths on any normal day, we generally head in towards the shallower areas where a thirty metre depth can be found.<\/p>

The rock creations make some sweet exciting little swim through\u2019s and are at around the twenty metre mark. There are simply hundreds and hundreds of Surgeon fish, with large groups of Goat fish grazing on the outer edges reef, take a look out down you may even find some of the White Tip Reef Sharks, they are really there you just have to find them they tend to be quite deep.<\/p>

North Point or Rocky Point as it is also widely known as \u2013 today, unfortunately the visibility is only ten metres which is not normal for this time of year. However that did not stop us having an excellent scuba dive.<\/p>

North Point can get deep very quickly so it is wise to keep your eye on your gauges here. We descended quite slowly down and started searching the large granite boulders for any hidden gems, it is quite easy to lose check of the depth and time here, and again I recommend regular gauge checking.
This site is a little like Elephant Head Rock<\/a> as there are some fabulous swim through\u2019s which have been formed by the large granite boulders which are endemic to the Similans. We proceeded to make our way through monstrous rocks stopping only when we spotted a couple of Jens Pipefish doing their dance in an isolated small cavern.<\/p>

We swam a little further around, where we then found a large school of Goat Fish. Whom all of a sudden, stopped what they were doing to keep a cautionary eye on the \u2018the bubble blowing brigade\u2019 and once content that we were no danger, they swam on by.<\/p>

Further still off down into the deep, way way out, we could just make out two shark like silhouettes, just what these actually were will remain one of those little unexplained mysteries. I would put a dollar bill on them being a couple of Grey Reef Sharks. Grey Reefs have been attracted here recently due to the cooler and turbid waters.<\/p>
